Week number three is underway, and it includes a great mix of people. All except for 2 campers flew into Whale Pass by floatplane, which is new to us. It’s more expensive, but they highly recommend it. We also had a family of 5 come in for this week to help on staff, and another lady, Erika, come in for the rest of the summer. We are blessed with so many staff this week.

There is a nice mix of old veterans and new fishermen in this group…every time a boat goes out they usually come back with 10 – 15 fish. It still hasn’t rained here, so the fish have been stacking up in the bay, making for some great fishing.

Water level in the tank is dropping slowly but surely…we bought another truckload of water yesterday. The random power outages and water shortages are reminding us that we are still a Fish “Camp”. Besides those things, life has been great up here.

First halibut trip of the week went out today. We have three trips scheduled, on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

What a great week.  The fishing was fantastic but the  fellowship was even better.  The Van Valin brothers dubbed us with a new name – 153 Meat Camp.  We did pack a lot of meat this week – 283 Silvers and 654 lbs of halibut.  What a great bunch of guys!

We had some great discussion during the Bible study time as we looked at I Peter 4:1-11.  This group was a pleasure to serve and we appreciate Howard Hooper for putting it together.  Thanks Guys

Our power was off again on Friday night so we grilled a bit of salmon over a wood fire.  One of the campers, Tim Van Valin market’s his families secret grilling baste and happened to have a couple of bottles.  The salmon was fantastic and I can’t recomend it enough.
