Tuesday’s halibut trip was one we will never forget…God protected us from a near tragedy.

The manifold gasket on the engine had blown without us knowing, which means exhaust was pouring into the cabin and on the deck of the boat. Mark and another camper had already succomed to the carbon monoxide poisoning and had passed out on the deck. Thanks to the quick thinking of the other campers on the boat, and God’s internevtion, a potential tragedy turned out just fine. Both Mark and Harold are up and around as normal, with no lasting side affects. God really showed us how fragile life is this week.

Matthew 6:19-20

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.”

Despite the perilous accident on the boat, the guys still managed to bring in 2 halibut, as well as a few whale pictures. Mark and Trent went over a day later and found the broken gasket and replaced it.

  1. Thank God for his protection! I am so relieved to hear everyone is OK.

  2. A carbon monoxide alarm might not be a bad idea. $30 at Walmart
