We had purchased two used boats from a resort over by West Yellowstone. When Ed went to pick them up they were less than desired so we startend looking for other options. One thing led to another and after talking with a “retired” boat builder here we find ourselves with less than two weeks before we leave – building two new boats for this summer. It’s actually a little fun. We are making 16′ modified V John Boats. By building them ourselves we are able to use thicker aluminum & make them wider than what is commercially available.
We made a mock up out of cardboard – If it goes as planned this is what they are going to look like.
We built it at a scale of 1 1/2″ = 1′ and measuring the GI Joe guy he would be 8′ tall so this picture is a little mis-leading. They are actually quite roomy.
